It's amazing when you put your radar out there to find something, it appears when least expected. I've been looking for a dress form to display my handmade jewelry at our Portland Art Collective 'Open Doors' Show. The perfect dress form found me today. I don't know how old it is but I love all the wing nuts and metal inner workings. It rests on a four claw-footed metal stand that can be floor or table height.

Lucky Dress Form Find at Monticello Antiques
It's amazing when you put your radar out there to find something, it appears when least expected. I've been looking for a dress form to display my handmade jewelry at our Portland Art Collective 'Open Doors' Show. The perfect dress form found me today. I don't know how old it is but I love all the wing nuts and metal inner workings. It rests on a four claw-footed metal stand that can be floor or table height.

I'm so glad you found a dress form. There is nothing better for displaying jewelry and I think every artist should have one. I'm glad this one "found" you.
Lucky indeed, Paula! And your necklace looks quite nice up there on the form. I think she would look nice with an apron, too. :)
I ended up buying a much less authentic but useful wire form at Jo-Ann's to display some scarves.

And meeting at the antique store is a winner! What a great idea someone had. it's a really good place for sketching, too, with lots of choices of subject.
HOw fun, you know, recently I found a very small one (about 12-15") that was a pin cushion, that I used to stick my brooches for sale into... worked great. Also recently found a terrific more lifesize wire one I intend to "art up" for the studio...
