Buttons Decorated with Sketches

Penelope Harris brought her button maker to our retreat last weekend. She knows how much fun I had creating these one-inch buttons from my printed sketches. I could become very addicted to making buttons. Check HERE to see photos of the button maker and how it works . The only thing stopping me is the cost of a button maker. I have DH looking on eBay to find one at a good price. Did you know that you can make pins, magnets, mirrors and more...?

Paula, my first thought when I saw your buttons was that they would be so pretty as garment buttons! Have you ever had any of your sketches printed as fabric? Fabric buttons are easy (and cheap!) to make.

Yes they look like fun but the machine was expensive just to "play" around with. Good luck finding a deal on ebay.

Thanks, Ruth, that's a great idea!

Lorrie, I agree with you about the expense. That's why I was glad for the opportunity to play with someone else's button maker. I'll let you know if I find a good deal. Right now, I'm trying to use the art supplies that I have on hand.

These buttons are so pretty, Paula. One year at ArtFest Teesha had a button mirror for everyone, and 2 other times she had them as a nametag. 2" across. I have a bunch of old button forms for making clothing buttons and have used those for fanciful buttons. You could print your drawings onto iron on transfer paper from Office Depot and do buttons on the button forms and then paint them with diamond glaze or gloss acrylic.

Thanks for leaving such nice comments on my blog.
